It takes 24 hours to mature the depth of flavour in our stock.  Clear, sweet with delicate aromas of the sea.  Our stock truly sets the scene.


BayChowder is seasoned with our unique blend of 11 spices and herbs. The blend of earthy spices and aromatics create a final taste to be savoured.


BayChowder contains fresh local white fish, fluffy Lancashire potatoes and free range cream.  Our signature dish is served in a fresh crusty bread bowl.

BayChowder can be enjoyed simply or with a combination of any of the following:


  • Port of Lancaster Smokehouse Bacon
  • Morecambe Bay Shrimp
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice

Hearty and simple fayre

Seafarers from these islands made chowder dishes more than 250 years ago.  Chowder kept crews nourished on long voyages across the Atlantic.  


Shrimp and cockles have been caught in our waters for even longer!  Generations of Morecambe Bay families have been fed by local fishermen braving our tides and sands.


BayChowder aims to marry these traditions with modern tastes.
